EN 12722 Dry Temperature Resistance Tests

EUROLAB laboratory provides testing and compliance services within the scope of EN 12722 standard. This European standard is used to view and evaluate the dry heat resistance of all hard furniture surfaces, regardless of materials. It cannot be applied to leather and textile surfaces.

EN 12722 Dry Temperature Resistance Tests

The test is designed to be carried out on a piece of finished furniture, it must be done on unused surfaces. The same material must be processed in the same way as the finished product and be large enough to meet the requirements. It should be done on unused surfaces.

Preparation and Conditioning Phase of EN 12722

Conditioning of the test surface should begin at least one week before the test and the air temperature must be (23 ± 2) °C.

The test surface should be substantially flat and of sufficient size.

EN 12722 Test Procedure

Immediately after conditioning, the test should be performed in a test atmosphere of (23 ± 2) °C.

The test surface should be placed horizontally. In cases where the tests are carried out simultaneously, the test surfaces should be separated by at least 50mm.

Before the test, the surface should be gently cleaned with a cleaning cloth.

After placing the test surface in the oven and thermometer or other temperature measuring instruments should be placed in the middle hole of the heat source.

When the test surface cools down, it should be cleaned with a cleaning cloth.

The test surface should be allowed to remain intact for up to 16 to 24 hours.

EN 12722 Test Temperatures

Test temperatures 55 °C 70 °C 85 °C 100 °C 120 °C 140 °C 160 °C 180 °C 200 °C should be specified in the selected requirement specifications.
