EUROLAB laboratory provides testing and compliance services within the scope of IPC 6013D standard. An IPC 6013D specification covers the qualification and performance requirements for flexible printed cards. Flexible printed cardboard can be single-sided, double-sided, multi-layered or rigid-flexible multilayer. All of these structures may or may not contain reinforcements, paved through holes (PTHs), and blind/buried paths.
Flexible or rigid-flex printed board may contain accumulated High Density Interconnect (HDI) layers. The printed board may contain capacitive or resistive components, dissipating capacitive planes and embedded active or passive circuitry conforming to IPC 6017.
The rigid portion of the printed carton may include an active or inactive metal core or external metal heat frame.
The purpose of this specification is to provide requirements for the qualification and performance of flex printed cards designed according to IPC-2221 and IPC-2223. This specification recognizes that flex printed cards will be subject to changes in performance requirements based on end use. These performance classes (Class 1, Class 2 and Class 3) are divided into three and are defined in IPC 6011.
Performance requirements are set for different types of flexible printed cardboard classified as:
Performance class and installation usage for procurement purposes will be specified in the procurement documents. The documentation should provide sufficient information to the supplier so that the supplier can produce the flexible printed boards and enable the user to receive the desired product. Information required to be included in purchasing documents will comply with IPC-2611 and IPC-2614.
