EN 771-2 Standard Test for Calcium Silicate Wall Units

This European standard specifies the characteristics and performance requirements of calcium silicate masonry units whose primary uses are interior walls, exterior walls, cellars, foundations and exterior chimney walls.

This European standard is intended to apply to all calcium silicate wall units, including generally non-rectangular parallelepiped, special-shaped and accessory units.

It defines performance, for example, regarding strength, density and dimensional accuracy, measured against relevant test methods in separate European standards.

This standard provides for "evaluation and verification of stability (AVCP)" of the product against this European Standard. It also includes the marking requirement for products covered by this document.

This European standard does not specify standard dimensions for calcium silicate masonry units or standard working dimensions and angles for specially shaped and accessory units. It does not cover units with more than 60% void volume or products made from shale as the main raw material.

It does not include floor-height boards. It does not cover units intended to be used as moisture resistant flooring, units with heat insulation material bonded to unit surfaces susceptible to fire exposure, or flue flue units.
