ISO 6934 Steel Test Standard for Prestressing Concrete

EUROLAB laboratory provides testing and compliance services within the scope of ISO 6934 standard. ISO 6934 specifies the requirements for high tensile steel to be used in prestressed concrete.

Applies only to material in the condition provided by the manufacturer. It does not cover requirements for materials and anchorage devices used in conjunction with prestressing steel in structural components. Specific specifications for each prestress steel type are given in ISO 6934-2 to ISO 6934-5.

The product is supplied in coils of approximately equal diameter to the wire drawing machine capstan (mill coils) or in coils of flattened wire of larger diameter.

A hot-rolled bar or wire product is shipped in rolls, which is heated to a high temperature, rapidly cooled to form a martensitic structure, and then tempered at an appropriate temperature. The surface of the wire can be covered with a thin layer of scales. The wire can be plain, ribbed, corrugated or recessed.

A linear product consisting of two or more wires twisted together in a helical fashion. The spinning pitch and direction are the same for all stranded wires in the same layer. The pitch corresponds to the size and type of wire.
