EN 13429 Packaging, Standard Test for Reuse

EUROLAB laboratory provides testing and compliance services within the scope of EN 13429 standard. This European standard specifies the requirements for a packaging to be classified as reusable and lays down the procedures for assessing compliance with these requirements, including related systems.

This standard alone cannot provide an assumption of conformity. The procedure for applying this standard is contained in EN 13427.

For conformity assessment to be fully effective it also requires documentary support and in particular the recording of the results of the assessment process.

This standard requires this to be done formally, with a statement noting that all conditions determined to allow reuse have been met.

With regard to matters affecting the health and safety of employed persons in the re-use process, such as renewing or cleaning the packaging, existing legislation in all states of the European Union provides for specific and comprehensive requirements and it is considered inappropriate to develop only separate requirements.
