The standard does not apply to coatings that are not susceptible to algae growth. The test method involves protecting only the film, not protecting the substrate itself, such as wood, which is covered in another standard.
The test method is valid for wood and wall coverings. Not applicable to marine coatings.
Safety, health and environmental issues are not covered by this standard.
Determining the performance of film protectors in coatings by applying aging processes is not within the scope of this standard.
