EUROLAB laboratory provides testing and compliance services within the scope of EN 13759 standard. This European Standard specifies test methods for determining the durability of hand- and power-operated recliners for adult seating.

It also specifies test methods for determining the durability of mechanisms for converting sofas and chairs into beds.

The test methods are based on the use of a person weighing up to 110 kg. Requirements for the durability of recline mechanisms are not included in this standard.

Test methods for strength and durability of the structure are not included. The machine does not apply to electrically driven seating safety covered by the low voltage and EMC directives. It does not apply to tilt and recline mechanisms fitted to work chairs.

The office chair is a type of chair with or without armrests and a backrest, the upper part of which is supported on a single column and can be rotated in the horizontal plane, with adjustable height, for use by an adult in the office or home office.

Sofa bed refers to a seating piece that uses a mechanism to convert it into a bed.

Reclining Chair refers to a seat with a backrest that can be adjusted from the normal upright position to the supine position.

Raise and Recliner Chair refers to the seat piece that, in addition to the recline function, has a mechanism for raising the seat.
