EN 14354 Wood Based Panels - Wooden Floor Coverings

EUROLAB laboratory provides testing and compliance services within the scope of EN 14354 standard. The EN 14354 standard defines terms and specifies requirements and test methods for multi-layer wood veneer floor coverings for interior use. It provides guidance for evaluating the conformity of products to the requirements of this standard.

This European Standard does not apply to multi-layer parquet elements with a minimum top layer thickness of 2,5 mm. EN 13489 applies to these products.

All wood veneer floor coverings shall comply with the general requirements given. Lacquered wood veneer floor coverings shall comply with the given classification requirements.

Nominal dimensions must be declared by the manufacturer at a given humidity. The procedure for the conformity assessment view to be used when requested regarding product quality can be used.

The wood veneers used for the top layer are hardwood or softwood species and should be free of rot and insect attack. Color changes may occur under the influence of light.

Wood veneer floor coverings complying with the requirements of this standard shall have the following information on a label or information sheet on their packaging or inside the packaging by the manufacturer.

• Product name and number of this document
• Level of use and wear test method used
• Wood species of the top layer and thickness of the top layer in case of using the etching method
• Nominal dimensions of an element: thickness × width × length in millimeters
• Number of items in a package
• Area in square meters contained in a package
• Identity of the manufacturer or supplier
