The specified method is commonly known as the Artificial Athlete (Stuttgart) method. The ability of the surface to absorb impacts is an important safety feature in sports fields. The upper surfaces react in different ways when the temperature is very high or at very low levels, or at the lower level of the stress ratio.
For example, the surface hardness is higher at low temperatures, and it becomes softer at high temperatures. Likewise, the vertical ball behavior of the sports field surface, resistance to rolling load, resistance to abrasion, reaction to fire, formaldehyde emission, mirror reflection, reflective shine, indentation. Tests and inspections must be made in many aspects such as strength, impact resistance and smoothness level. Different standards are set for each of these features.
