This standard applies to unidirectional (1D), bidirectional (2D) and tridirectional (xD, with 2< x < 3) continuous fiber-reinforced all ceramic matrix composites loaded along a major reinforcement axis.

Two situations are distinguished:

  • compression between plates;
  • Clamping using the handles.

Constant loading rate is only allowed in case of linear stress strain behavior up to failure.
