ISO 9895 is recommended for paper and board weights between 100 g/m2 and 400 g/m2 .
A 15 mm wide test piece is clamped between two clamps 0,70 mm apart and the maximum force is measured against each other until a compression error occurs and the compressive strength is calculated.
Some papers, for example soft tissues, are difficult to cut. In such cases, a pad of two or three sheets of tissue paper width can be prepared, consisting of a harder paper, for example, bond.
