EN 1673 Food Processing Machinery - Rotary Rack Ovens - Safety and Hygiene Requirements

EUROLAB laboratory provides testing and compliance services within the scope of EN 1673 standard. The EN 1673 standard specifies safety and hygiene requirements for the design and manufacture of rotary rack ovens that can be used with one or more mobile racks. These ovens are designed for professional use in the food industry and workshops (bakeries, pastry, etc.) for batch cooking of foodstuffs containing flour, water and other additives and/or additives.

Experiment and test machines under development by the manufacturer and machines for non-professional use are outside the scope of this European standard. This document covers the technical safety requirements for the transportation, installation, operation, cleaning and maintenance of these machines.

This document deals with all significant hazards, hazardous situations and events associated with rotary rack ovens when used as intended and under conditions of misuse reasonably foreseeable by the manufacturer.

The following hazards are not covered by this EN 1673 standard:

• Hazards arising from the use of gaseous fuel in gas appliances;
• Hazards arising from electromagnetic compatibility issues;
• Hazards from the use of trays made of or coated with silicone;
• Hazards due to dismantling, decommissioning and scrapping.

This document is not about the noise emitted by the machine. This document does not apply to rotary rack ovens manufactured before the date of EN issuance.

The machines involved and the extent to which hazards, hazardous situations or hazardous events are covered are specified in the Scope of this document. When the requirements of this type C standard differ from those specified in the type A or type B standards, the requirements of this type C standard take precedence over the requirements of other standards for machines designed and built according to the requirements of this type-C standard.
