EN 1815 Flexible and Laminate Flooring - Evaluation of Static Electrical Tendency

EUROLAB laboratory provides testing and compliance services within the scope of EN 1815 standard. The EN 1815 standard specifies a method for determining the body voltage generated when a person wearing standardized shoes walks on a flexible or laminate floor covering. The test method can be used in laboratory conditions as well as in situ.

EN 1815 Flexible and Laminate Flooring - Evaluation of Static Electrical Tendency

A decking, with an operator using a pair of standard sandals, walking on a floor covering with foil placed on a grounded metal baseplate (flexible floor coverings) or a grounded metal baseplate (laminate floor coverings) on a PE-foam/PE Evaluated in terms of static electricity tendency by means of a test.

Test sandals should only be reserved for use in this test method. The test sandals will be size 42 European open sandals with no heels and fitted straps to fit various foot sizes. Rubber sole material will be used. The resistance between the metal plate and the person standing on it and wearing sole sandals will be (108 - 109) Ω.

The test piece, PE foam, PE foil and sandals are conditioned for at least 7 days at (23 ± 2)°C and (25 ± 2) % relative humidity and these conditions must be maintained during the test.

Before each test series and after each individual test, clean the soles with a cotton swab and ethanol or isopropanol. Use sandpaper to roughen the surface and clean again with a clean rag and ethanol or isopropanol. Wait at least 5 minutes and make sure the soles are completely dry before testing.
