EUROLAB laboratory provides testing and compliance services within the scope of EN 1856-1 standard. This part of EN 1856 covers performance requirements for metallic lined single and multi-walled metal flue products used to transport combustion products from appliances to the outside atmosphere. It also specifies requirements for marking, manufacturer's instructions, product information and conformity assessment.
Metal liners and metal connecting flues not covered here are included in EN 1856-2. This standard does not apply to structurally independent (free-standing or self-supporting) chimneys.
This standard defines the documents to be submitted by the Technical Inspection for the reporting of the adequacy of the project and calculations of the newly manufactured chimneys before use, the information on the content of the documents, and the recommendations for manufacturing for the placement and tightness controls to be made afterwards.
The approval of the chimney projects does not include an evaluation on the suitability of the chimney for the structure, the ownership status of the route through which the chimney passes, the adequacy of the access components to the chimney and its suitability for the structure.
