HD 626 S1 Air Distribution Cables with Rated Voltage Uo/U(Um): Test Standard for 0,6-1 (1,2) kV

HD 626 is applicable for cables with a rated voltage of Uo/U(Um)=0,6/1(1,2) kV, mainly used in air power distribution systems for public distribution, with a maximum system voltage not exceeding 1,2 kV.

This section (Part 1) specifies the general requirements for these cables, unless specified otherwise in certain sections of this HD. Test methods are specified in HD 383, HD 405, EN 60811 and HD 605 or in Part 2 of this HD. Special cable types are specified in Sections 3 to 8.

The purposes of this Harmonization Document are:

• To standardize the cables, which are safe and reliable when used correctly, according to the technical requirements of the systems they are a part of,
• Specifying the features and manufacturing conditions that directly or indirectly affect safety,
• Identifying methods for checking compliance with these requirements.
• The type of compound is determined by specific tests in which category a compound is placed according to its properties. The type designation is not directly related to the composition of the compound.
• The insulation and coating compounds covered by this HD are listed below with their abbreviated designations.

Type Tests (Symbol T)

Testing required before providing a cable type covered by this HD on a general commercial basis to demonstrate satisfactory performance characteristics to meet the intended application. These tests have such a structure that they do not need to be repeated after they are made, unless changes are made in the cable material, design or production process that may change the performance characteristics.

Sample Tests(Symbol S)

Tests on completed cable samples or components from a completed cable to verify that the finished product meets design specifications.

Routine Tests ( Symbol R)

Tests on all production cable lengths to demonstrate compliance with requirements.

Test After Installation

Test aimed at demonstrating the integrity of the cable and its accessories as mounted.
