EN 438-2 High Pressure Decorative Laminates (HPL), Sheets Based on Thermosetting Resins, Part 2: Determination of Properties

These methods are primarily designed for testing the boards specified in EN 438-3, EN 438-4, EN 438-5.

The precision of the test methods specified in this European standard is unknown as interlaboratory data are not yet available.

As interlaboratory data become available, precision statements will be added to the test method in the next revision. It is not meaningful to make a statement of precision for these test methods, which have an endpoint determination based on subjective judgment.

Laminates will be examined for surface appearance under standard lighting and viewing conditions.

The light source should provide a diffuse illumination of (1200 ± 400) lx over the entire area of ​​the largest plates to be inspected. This can be diffused daylight or diffused artificial daylight.
