It also contains a list of test methods invoked in certain parts of the standard, with reference to current versions of other standards for which relevant test methods are given.
EN 50363 contains in its various parts the requirements for insulation, sheath and coating materials used for low voltage power cables harmonized in EN 50525.
The content of EN 50363 is not and will not be limited to cable materials conforming to EN 50525 only. Other materials can be included for compatible LV industrial cables. In addition, the use of materials in EN 50525 for cables other than EN 50363 is not prohibited, but is highly recommended.
