The EV charging cable is intended to provide power and, if necessary, communication to an electric vehicle. Charging cables are applicable to charging modes 61851-1 of IEC 1-3.

Cables with a rated voltage of 300/500 V are only allowed for charge mode 61851 of IEC 1-1. Maximum conductor operating temperatures for cables in this standard are 90°C. Cables can be an integral part of the vehicle.
