Conductors are divided into four classes, 1, 2, 5 and 6. Classes 1 and 2 are designed for use in fixed installation cables. Classes 5 and 6 are designed for use on flexible cables and cords but can also be used for fixed installations.
It does not apply to conductors for telecommunication purposes. Applies to specially designed conductors only when specified in the specification of the cable type. Unless otherwise specified in a specific clause, this standard deals with conductors in a finished cable, not a conductor made or supplied for inclusion in a cable.
