It applies to electrical and pneumatic industrial process tools using measured values that are continuous signals. The set point value can be mechanical (position, force, etc.) or a standard signal.
These devices can be used as controllers or switches for alarms and other similar purposes. This second version cancels and replaces the first version released in 2009. This edition constitutes a technical revision.
This version includes the following important technical changes related to the previous version:
Using the term two- or multi-position output instead of a two- or multi-state instrument, Using the term differential gap instead of differential switching,
Using the term dielectric strength instead of insulation testing.
