EN 14351-1 Product Standard Performance Characteristics - Part 1: Windows and Exterior Pedestrian Door Sets

EUROLAB laboratory provides testing and compliance services within the scope of EN 14351-1 standard. This part of EN 14351 applies to windows (including skylights, exterior fire-rated skylights and door-height windows), glass door sets, (escape route door sets) and screens, exterior pedestrian door sets (and their assemblies, including frameless ones), It defines material-independent performance characteristics, excluding fire resistance and smoke control properties.

Fire resistance and/or smoke control specifications for pedestrian door sets and openable windows are covered by EN 16034. This European Standard applies to:

Fixed windows or fixed lights, manually or electrically operated windows and door-height windows and screens for installation in vertical wall openings and skylights for installation on roofs, with:

• Relevant equipment, if fitted, weather stripping, glazed openings where intended to have glazed openings, louvered or louvered and louver boxes and manual or power windows, roof windows, door height windows and screens, in whole or in part, including any non-transparent fill glazed, fixed or partially fixed or openable (e.g. hinged, protruding, swiveling, sliding) with one or more flaps/wings.

Exterior pedestrian door kits with manually operated, flat or paneled leaf, complete with:

• Integral transoms, if any, adjacent parts within a single frame for inclusion in a single opening, if any.

Windows covered by this standard are not evaluated for their release (opening) capabilities. Products covered by this European Standard have not been evaluated for structural applications.

This European Standard does not apply to:

• Roof windows according to EN 1873 and EN 14963;
• Curtain wall according to EN 13830;
• Industrial, commercial and garage doors and gates according to EN 13241;
• Internal pedestrian doors according to EN 14351-2;
• Revolving door sets;
• Electrically operated pedestrian door sets according to EN 16361;
• Windows intended to be part of internal partition
