Sometimes it also specifies signals to determine the peak brightness ratio associated with television power consumption metering programs. Also, this section specifies hardware, interfaces, and accuracy associated with signal generation.

This first edition of EN 62087-1 together with EN 62087-3 and EN 62087-6 to EN 62087-2 cancels and replaces the entire EN 62087. This edition constitutes a technical revision.

This edition contains important technical changes with respect to Article 62087 of EN 11. Instead of relying on sub-item numbers in the text of the television test method, signals found on discs are now generally numbered.

The video test patterns used to determine the peak luminance ratio are now included with the discs. Sound test signals are indicated in the report. Added box and outline video signal. This publication is available in CD-ROM format only. The 5-disc pack contains the broadcast on one CD and the video files on two DVDs and two Blu-ray™ Discs.
