EN 62087-3 Audio, Video and Related Equipment - Determining Power Consumption - Part 3: Television Sets

Television sets include, but are not limited to, those with CRT, LCD, PDP, OLED or projection technologies. Operating modes and functions are described in detail in this part of EN 62087 as they apply specifically to television sets.

This first edition of EN 62087-3 repeals and replaces Articles 62087 and 6 of EN 11 and Annex B. Together with EN 62087-1 to EN 62087-2 and EN 62087-4 to EN 62087-6, this standard cancels and replaces EN 62087 as a whole. This edition constitutes a technical revision.

This edition contains the following important technical changes with respect to Articles 62087 and 6 of IEC 11 and Annex B. For TVs with automatic brightness control, power can now be measured at multiple custom lighting levels.

A method has been defined to determine the ratio of peak brightness expected in the home and peak brightness expected in the retail environment. Chapters on general measurement conditions and procedures are now in EN 62087-1.

Sections on signals and media are now in EN 62087-2. Headers have been changed to comply with existing directives and to adapt to the multi-part structure.
