EN 755 Aluminum and Aluminum Alloys, Extruded Bar-Bar, Pipe and Profiles - Technical Conditions for Inspection and Delivery Test Standards

Aluminum extrusions are used in a wide variety of industries, including construction, automotive, aerospace and general uses. This standard specifies the technical conditions for the inspection and delivery of such products.

EN 755 Aluminum and Aluminum Alloys, Extruded Bar-Bar, Pipe and Profiles - Technical Conditions for Inspection and Delivery Test Standards

Specifies technical conditions for the inspection and delivery of forged aluminum and alloy extruded bar/bar, pipe and profiles for general engineering applications. The revised standard includes guidelines for ordering processes, manufacturing processes, quality control, chemical composition limits, testing procedures, and sampling.

Who is this standard for:

  • Manufacturers, suppliers, testers, carriers and users of aluminum and aluminum alloys with a focus on extruded bars/bars, pipes and profiles;
  • Aluminum extruders and stockers;
  • Foundries and foundry suppliers;
  • Casting manufacturers, designers and buyers;
  • Design Engineers;
  • Those involved in relevant product development and R&D.

EN 755 consists of the following parts

EN 755-1 Aluminum and Aluminum Alloys-Extruded Wire Rod/Bar, Pipe and Profiles - Technical Inspection and Delivery Conditions

This standard specifies technical inspection and delivery conditions for general engineering applications of formable aluminum and aluminum alloy extruded wire rods/rods, pipes and profiles.

EN 755-2 Aluminum and Aluminum Alloys - Extruded Wire Rod/Bar, Pipe and Profiles - Mechanical Properties

This European Standard specifies limit values for the mechanical properties of extruded wire rods/rods, pipes and profiles made of aluminum and aluminum alloys after tensile testing. Technical inspection and delivery conditions, including product and test conditions, are given in EN 755-1. Brief designations for heat treatment are given in EN 515. The chemical composition limits of these materials are given in EN 573-3.

EN 755-3 Aluminum and Aluminum Alloys - Extruded Wire Rod/Bar, Tube and Profiles - Round Bars, Size and Shape Tolerances

This standard specifies tolerances for size and shape of extruded aluminum and aluminum alloy round bars, diameter range from 8 mm to 320 mm (inclusive).

EN 755-4 Aluminum and Aluminum Alloys - Extruded Wire Rod/Bar, Tube and Profiles - Square Bars, Size and Shape Tolerances

This standard specifies tolerances for size and shape of extruded aluminum and aluminum alloy square cross-section bars with a distance between parallel faces from 10 mm to 220 mm (inclusive).

EN 755-5 Aluminum and Aluminum Alloys - Extruded Wire Rod/Bar, Tube and Profiles - Rectangular Bars, Size and Shape Tolerances

This standard specifies the tolerances for size and shape of extruded aluminum and aluminum alloy rectangular cross-section bars, with a width of 10 mm to 600 mm (inclusive), and a thickness of 2 mm to 240 mm.

EN 755-6 Aluminum and Aluminum Alloys - Extruded Wire Rod/Bar, Tube and Profiles - Hexagonal Bars, Size and Shape Tolerances

This standard specifies the tolerances for size and shape of extruded aluminum and aluminum alloy hexagonal cross-section bars with a distance between parallel faces from 10 mm to 220 mm (inclusive).

EN 755-7 Aluminum and Aluminum Alloys - Extruded Wire Rod/Bar, Pipe and Profiles - Seamless Tubes, Size and Shape Tolerances

This standard specifies tolerances on dimensions and form for aluminum and aluminum alloy extruded seamless tubes with an outside diameter (OD) of 8 mm to 450 mm or a cross section in a circumferential circle (CD). Available in straight lengths from 10 mm to 350 mm.

EN 755-8 Aluminum and Aluminum Alloys - Extruded Wire Rod/Bar, Pipe and Profiles - Port Pipes, Size and Shape Tolerances

This standard specifies tolerances on dimensions and form for aluminum and aluminum alloy extruded porthole pipes with an outside diameter (OD) of 8 mm to 450 mm or a cross section in a circumferential circle (CD). Available in straight lengths from 10 mm to 350 mm.

EN 755-9 Aluminum and Aluminum Alloys - Extruded Wire Rod/Bar, Tube and Profiles - Profiles, Size and Shape Tolerances

This standard specifies tolerances on dimensions and form for aluminum and aluminum alloy extruded profile with a cross section in a circumferential circle not greater than 800 mm. The temper definitions used in this section are according to EN 515. This standard only applies to extruded profiles for general engineering applications.
