This European Standard specifies requirements for the Bourdon tube (denoted by 'B', see clause 40) indicating circular, spiral or helical pressure gauges, vacuum gauges and combined vacuum and pressure gauges (composite gauges) of nominal size 250 to 12 and Measured in ranges up to 1600 bar for measurement of gauge pressure.
The indicated gauges have circular dials with concentric scales for industrial and testing use. The standard includes test methods for performance to be applied in type approval and production part tests.
The standard applies to indicators suitable for industrial use with common industrial fluids. It also applies to liquid gauges, gauges for high pressure gases, and gauges for use with oxygen or acetylene. Not valid for electrical contact manometers.
Pressure gauges for welding, cutting and related processes are not included in this standard, but are specified in EN 562.
