EUROLAB laboratory provides testing and compliance services within the scope of EN 840-6 standard. This European standard provides basic safety, health and ergonomic requirements for mobile waste and recycling containers according to EN 840-1 to EN 840-4, excluding hazardous waste containers.
When the container is unloaded or loaded with a rated mass, it should be constructed so that it fits securely in an approved compatible lifting device and automatically locks securely to the lifting device during tipping and unloading.
Containers with wheels shall be constructed under test conditions according to EN 840-5 in such a way that the pushing and pulling forces to move the container do not exceed the values given in EN 840-5. Push and pull forces should be specified in the operating instructions.
The two-wheeled container shall have handles for pulling, pushing and maneuvering the container allowing the operator to grasp it securely with both hands.
The four-wheel container shall have handles for pushing, pulling, maneuvering and lifting the container. Injuries caused by sharp edges should be avoided.
