EN ISO 10140-1 Laboratory Measurement of Sound Insulation of Structural Elements - Code of Practice for Specific Products

Developed by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), this part of the EN ISO 10140 standard specifies test requirements for structural members and products, including detailed requirements for preparation, assembly, operation and test conditions, as well as additional test information for applicable quantities and reporting.

EN ISO 10140-1 Laboratory Measurement of Sound Insulation of Structural Elements - Code of Practice for Specific Products

EN ISO 10140 (all parts) relates to laboratory measurements of the sound insulation of building elements. General procedures for airborne and impact sound insulation measurements are given in EN ISO 10140-2 and EN ISO 10140-3, respectively.

This part of EN ISO 10140 specifies codes of practice for certain elements and products, including special requirements for preparation, assembly, operation and test conditions. EN ISO 10140-2 and EN ISO 10140-3 contain general procedures for airborne and impact sound insulation measurements, respectively, and refer to EN ISO 10140-4 and EN ISO 10140-5 where appropriate. It is possible to apply EN ISO 10140-10140 and EN ISO 2-10140 for elements and products that do not have a specific application rule described in this section of EN ISO 3. EN ISO 10140-4 includes basic measurement techniques and processes. EN ISO 10140-5 contains requirements for test facilities and equipment.

EN ISO 10140 (all parts) to improve layout of laboratory measurements, ensure consistency, and simplify future changes and additions to mounting conditions of test elements in laboratory and field measurements
was created. Refers to EN ISO 10140 (all sections) to provide a well-written and organized format for laboratory measurements.

This part of EN ISO 10140 is intended to be updated with codes of practice for other products. It is also intended to include EN ISO 140-18 in EN ISO 10140 (all parts).

To improve reproducibility between laboratories and to facilitate comparison of sound reduction indices for different lightweight double walls, the twin-bladed partition should be mounted on the same side of the interruption and not along the laboratory acoustic curtain. 1. The aperture must meet the requirements in ISO 10140-2. Other mounting conditions may be used but must be fully described in the test report.

Among the services provided by our organization within the framework of material testing services, there are also EN ISO 10140-1 standard tests. Do not hesitate to contact EUROLAB laboratory for your test and certification requests.
