EN ISO 105-C06 Textiles - Color Fastness Tests - Part C06: Color Fastness to Domestic and Commercial Laundry

EN ISO 105-C06 specifies methods for determining the color resistance of textiles of all types and shapes to domestic or commercial washing procedures used for normal household goods using a reference detergent.

Industrial and hospital goods may be subject to special laundering procedures, which in some ways can be more severe. Discoloration and staining from desorption and/or abrasive action in a single (S) test is very close to a commercial or household laundry.

The results of a multiple (M) test can in some cases be approximated by the results of up to five domestic or commercial washings at temperatures not exceeding 70 °C. M tests are more severe than S tests due to increased mechanical impact.

These methods do not reflect the effect of optical brighteners found in commercial washing products. These methods are designed for the supplied detergent and bleach systems. Other detergents and bleach systems may require different conditions and content levels.
