EN ISO 10545 Test Standards for Ceramic Tiles

The EN ISO 10545 standard, developed by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), specifies the rules for blending, sampling, inspection and acceptance or rejection of ceramic tiles.

EN ISO 10545 Test Standards for Ceramic Tiles

Karo Seramik is a floor and wall covering material produced from ceramic material as sheets of various sizes. A tile is defined as "a flat surface piece whose length and width are clearly greater than its thickness". Tiles are produced in various sizes, from mosaics with a surface measurement of less than 90 cm² to tiles with a side length of 1 meter. Tile thicknesses range from 5 mm for small wall covering tiles to 20-25 mm for large tiles.

As EUROLAB Laboratory, we provide standard testing services for EN ISO 10545 and all its departments.

EN ISO 10545 - 1 Basis for Sampling and Acceptance:

This part of ISO 10545 specifies the rules for blending, sampling, inspection and acceptance/rejection of ceramic tiles.

EN ISO 10545 - 2 Determination of Dimensions and Surface Quality:

This part of ISO 10545 covers the dimensional characteristics (length, width, thickness, flatness of edges, rectangularity, surface flatness) and methods for determining surface quality of ceramic tiles.

EN ISO 10545 - 3 Determination of Water Absorption, Visible Porosity, Relative Density and Volume Mass:

This part of ISO 10545 specifies the water absorption, apparent porosity, apparent relative density and bulk weights of ceramic tiles.

EN ISO 10545 - 4 Determination of Flexural and Fracture Strength:

This part of ISO 10545 specifies a test method for determining the modulus of rupture and breaking strength of all ceramic tiles.

Determination of Impact Strength by Measuring the Restitution Coefficient of EN ISO 10545 - 5:

This part of ISO 10545 specifies a test method for determining the impact resistance of ceramic tiles by measuring the aging coefficient.

EN ISO 10545 - 6 Determination of Deep Abrasion Resistance in Unglazed Tiles:

This part of ISO 10545 covers the method for determining the deep abrasion resistance of unglazed ceramic tiles used in flooring.

EN ISO 10545 - 7 Glazed Tiles - Determination of Surface Wear Resistance:

This part of ISO 10545 covers the method for determining the surface wear resistance of all glazed ceramic tiles used in floor coverings.

EN ISO 10545 - 8 Direction of Linear Thermal Expansion:

This part of ISO 10545 defines a test method for determining the linear thermal expansion coefficient of ceramic tiles.

EN ISO 10545 - 9 Determination of Resistance to Heat Shock:

This part of ISO 10545 defines a test method for determining the resistance to thermal shock of all ceramic tiles under normal use conditions.

EN ISO 10545 - 10 Determination of Moisture Expansion:

This part of ISO 10545 specifies a method for determining the moisture expansion of ceramic tiles.

EN ISO 10545 - 11 Determination of Cracking Resistance for Glazed Tiles:

This part of ISO 10545 defines a test method for determining the crack resistance of all coated ceramic tiles, except where cracking is a natural decorative feature of the products.

EN ISO 10545 - 12 Determination of Frost Resistance

This part of ISO 10545 specifies a method for determining the frost resistance of ceramic tiles intended for use in freezing conditions in the presence of water.

EN ISO 10545 - 13 Determination of Resistance to Chemical Substances

This part of ISO 10545 specifies a test method for determining the chemical resistance of ceramic tiles at room temperature. The method applies to all types of ceramic tiles.

EN ISO 10545 - 14 Determination of Stain Resistance

This part of ISO 10545 specifies a method for determining the resistance of a suitable surface of ceramic tiles to stains.

EN ISO 10545 - 15 Determination of Lead and Cadmium Emitted from Tiles

This part of ISO 10545 specifies a method for the determination of emitted lead and cadmium from a ceramic tile surface.

EN ISO 10545 - 16 Determination of Small Color Differences

This part of ISO 10545 describes a method for using color measuring instruments to measure small color differences between solid colored ceramic tiles designed to be of uniform and consistent colour.
