This standard describes a method for determining the abrasion resistance of an unfilled synthetic turf surface using an abrasive wheel under laboratory conditions.

It describes two methods for determining the tensile properties of pile yarns in synthetic turf making. Method A is used to determine the tensile properties of synthetic yarns taken from packages prior to synthetic turf production. Method B is used to determine the tensile properties of manufactured synthetic turf pile yarns. The results from the two methods are not comparable and method B is less accurate.
