EUROLAB, with its state-of-the-art accredited laboratories and expert team, provides precise and fast testing services within the scope of EN 1013 testing. This standard specifies the requirements for light-transmitting single-walled profiled plastic sheets for interior and exterior walls, roofs and ceilings.

It can be applied to single-wall sheets, used as a single layer or when combined to form a multi-layer structure.

It also specifies test methods and provides conformity assessment and marking of plates.

The physical properties of light-transmitting single-walled profiled plastic sheets are different from bituminous, metal and fiber-reinforced cement sheets as defined in EN 534 [1], EN 506 [2], EN 508-1 [3], EN 508-2. They do not need to have the same clearance properties and often alternative fastening properties are required.

National regulations and manufacturer literature should be consulted for requirements regarding design, storage and installation, including all safety aspects according to the material.

Both sides of the plates will be in regular view. Visual or tactile inspection should show no holes, evidence of cracking or splitting, and no clusters of bubbles greater than 1 mm in diameter or inclusions likely to affect features. For FRP sheets, defects such as resin ribs, glass folds or glass knots should not exceed 5 mm in diameter.

The edges of the sheet should be straight and clean.

Other requirements regarding the visual aspects of the boards can be agreed between the manufacturer and the customer.

Where necessary, the sheet will be declared as “dispersive” or “non-scattering”, depending on whether the image of an object placed 1 m behind the sheet appears blurred or sharp, respectively.
