EN ISO 17225-2 Test Standard for Fuel Properties of Graded Wood Pellets

Developed by the International Standards Organization (ISO), the EN ISO 17225-2 standard specifies fuel quality classes and properties of wood pellets rated for non-industrial and industrial use.

This document covers only wood pellets produced from forest, plantation and other virgin wood, by-products and residues from the woodworking industry, untreated used wood, raw materials. Heat-treated biomass pellets (eg roasted pellets) are not covered by this document.

The purpose of the ISO 17225 series is to provide clear classification principles for solid biofuels; serve as a tool to enable efficient trading of solid biofuels; To provide a means of communication with equipment manufacturers as well as good understanding between the seller and the buyer. It also simplifies authorization procedures and reporting. This standard supports the use of graded wood pellets for residential, small commercial and public buildings as well as industrial power generation applications requiring graded pellet quality.
