EN ISO 22007-4 Plastics - Test for Laser Flash Method

EUROLAB, with its state-of-the-art accredited laboratories and expert team, provides precise and fast testing services within the scope of EN ISO 22007-4 testing. This standard specifies a method for determining the thermal spread of a thin solid plastic disc in the thickness direction by the laser flash method.

EN ISO 22007-4 Plastics - Test for Laser Flash Method

This method is based on measuring the temperature rise on the back face of the thin disk sample produced with a short energy pulse on the front face.

The method can be used for homogeneous solid plastics as well as composites with isotropic or orthotropic structure. In general, it covers materials with thermal dissipation α in the range of 1 × 10 −7 m 2 ⋅s −1 < α < 1 × 10 −4 m 2 ⋅s −1 .

Measurements can be performed in gaseous and vacuum environments over a temperature range of -100 °C to +400 °C.

Measured values for non-homogeneous samples may depend on sample thickness.
