EN ISO 2812-1 Paints and Varnishes - Determination of Resistance to Liquids - Part 1: Immersion in Non-Water Liquids

EUROLAB laboratory provides testing and compliance services within the scope of EN ISO 2812-1 standard. This part of the International Standard EN ISO 2812 specifies general methods for determining the resistance of a single-layer or multi-layer system of coating materials to the effects of liquids or paste-like products other than water.

These methods allow testers to determine the effects of the test liquid on the coating and, if necessary, to assess damage to the substrate. A coated test panel is exposed to a test liquid by immersing it in the test liquid. The effects of exposures are assessed against agreed criteria.

To protect against explosion or fire, products containing volatile flammable liquids should be handled with care. One or more test fluids will be used as agreed between the parties involved.

Unless otherwise agreed, test panels with dimensions of approximately 150 mm × 100 mm and a thickness of 0,7 mm to 1,0 mm complying with ISO 1514 requirements are used. The rod must be made of steel. One end of a rod should be rounded so that its radius is approximately equal to the radius of the rod.

Each test panel should be prepared as described in ISO 1514 and then coated by the method of application specified with the product or system under test. Each test panel coated for the specified time under specified conditions should be dried or aged in the furnace.

Among the services provided by our organization within the framework of material testing services, there are also EN ISO 2812-1 standard tests. Do not hesitate to contact our laboratory EUROLAB for your testing and certification requests.
