EN ISO 4892-1 Plastics - Methods of Exposure to Laboratory Light Sources - Part 1: General Guidance

It also describes general performance requirements for devices used to expose plastics to laboratory light sources.

Information on performance requirements is for manufacturers of artificial accelerated aging or artificial accelerated irradiation devices.

In this part of EN ISO 4892, the term "light source" refers to radiation sources that emit UV radiation, visible radiation, infrared radiation, or any combination of these types of radiation.

EN ISO 4892-1 also provides information on the interpretation of data from artificial accelerated weather exposures or artificial accelerated irradiation exposures.

More specific information on methods for detecting change in properties of plastics after exposure and reporting these results is given in ISO 4582.

This standard contains general rules and information regarding the selection and application of laboratory radiation exposure methods described in the following sections.
