EN ISO 5774 Plastic Hoses - Textile Reinforced Types for Compressed Air Applications - Specification

EN ISO 5774 specifies requirements for four types of flexible thermoplastic hose with textile reinforcement for compressed air applications in the temperature range from -10 °C to +60 °C.

The four types are classified as light service for a maximum working pressure of 23 bar at 7°C and 60 bar at 4,5°C, a maximum working pressure of 23 bar at 10°C and medium service at 6,5 bar.

This International standard has been drawn up to provide minimum acceptable requirements for satisfactory performance of textile reinforced flexible thermoplastic hoses for compressed air applications. The maximum operating pressures for each hose type are indicated by the two operating temperatures.

Hoses are not designed to transport oil. However, compressed air from a compressor may contain some oil in suspension.

The liner and cap must be of the same thickness, concentric, fully gelled and free of visible cracks, pores, foreign debris and other defects that could cause the hose to be out of service.

After aging for 188 days at a temperature of (70 ± 2) °C as specified in ISO 7, the tensile strength and elongation at break of the liner and cover shall not change by more than the values ​​specified by ISO 37.
