EN ISO 7765-1 Plastic Film and Coating, Determination of Impact Resistance by Free Falling Dart Method, Part 1: Ladder Methods

EUROLAB laboratory provides testing and compliance services within the scope of EN ISO 7765-1 standard. This standard specifies methods for determining the energy of a free-falling dart from a given height, under certain impact conditions, which causes rupture of plastic films and sheets less than 1 mm thick, causing 50% of the samples tested to fail.

Two methods are described. Method A uses a 0,66 mm diameter hemispherical head dart fired from a height of 38 m and method B uses a 1,50 mm diameter hemispherical head dart fired from a height of 50 m. The measurement technique is the ladder method.

The measurement technique is the ladder method. A uniform missile mass increase is used during testing, and depending on the observed result (no failure or failure) for the sample, the missile weight is reduced or increased in a uniform increment after testing each sample.
