EN ISO 845 Cellular Plastics and Rubbers, Standard Test for Determination of Apparent Density

EUROLAB, with its state-of-the-art accredited laboratories and expert team, provides precise and fast testing services within the scope of EN ISO 845 testing. ISO 845 specifies a method for determining the apparent total density and apparent core density of cellular plastics and rubbers.

EN ISO 845 Cellular Plastics and Rubbers, Standard Test for Determination of Apparent Density

If the material to be tested includes coatings formed during a molding/extrusion, the apparent total density or the apparent core density, or both, can be determined. If the material does not have crusts formed during molding, the term "overall density" does not apply.

The values given in this clause have been developed from data obtained using hard materials only and test specimens conditioned for 72 hours. Their validity for other materials and conditioning times has not yet been determined.

Interlaboratory and interlaboratory accuracy of this test method can be expected to vary for different materials. The results of the five-laboratory joint testing program showed that the measured absolute density differences for certain materials can be limited to 1,7% (with 95% confidence) in a single laboratory.
