EN ISO 9220 Metallic Coating Analysis

This test procedure specifies a method for measuring the local thickness of metallic coatings by examining the cross-section with a scanning electron microscope. It is destructive and has an uncertainty of less than 10% or less than 0,1 /um, whichever is greater. It can be used for thicknesses up to a few millimeters, but it is generally more practical to use a light microscope (ISO 1463). Appendix a gives the preparation of sections.
