EN 14303 Standard Test for Thermal Insulation Products for Building Equipment and Industrial Facilities, Factory Made Mineral Wool (MW) Products

This European standard specifies requirements for factory-made mineral wool products used for thermal insulation of building equipment and industrial facilities in the operating temperature range of about 0°C to +800°C.

Below ambient operating temperature, special means may be required against water vapor diffusion and water accumulation by air flow. Below an operating temperature of -50°C, special tests are recommended regarding the suitability of products for the intended application (eg liquefaction of oxygen).

In any case, the manufacturer's recommendation should be observed. The products are produced as coated or uncoated in the form of rolls, sheets, plates, mats, felt, quilts, wire mats, lamella mats, chamfered moldings and pipe sections.

This European standard defines product characteristics and includes procedures for testing, conformity assessment, marking and labeling.

The products covered by this standard are also used in prefabricated thermal insulation systems and composite panels; The performance of systems containing these products is not covered.

This European standard does not specify the required level of a particular property that must be achieved by a product to demonstrate fitness for purpose in a particular application. The levels required for a particular application can be found in regulations and invitations to tender.
