ETSI EN 300 384 Radio Broadcasting Systems; Very High Frequency (VHF), Frequency Modulated, Audio Broadcast Transmitters Test Standard

The ETSI EN 300 384 standard (ETS) covers these performance requirements for Very High.
Frequency (VHF) Frequency Modulation (FM) CCIR Recommendation modulated audio broadcast transmitters operating in the 87,5 MHz to 108 MHz frequency band and having some limitation in the Radio Frequency (RF) spectrum, Monophonic signals, stereophonic signals are transmitted according to the CCIR Recommendation. This ETS also covers the transmission of CCIR Recommendation supplementary signals.

The ETS only considers technical features that relate to the radiated signal and thus directly affect the efficient use of the RF spectrum. It is assumed that CCIR Recommendation 412-5 is used for planning audio broadcast services.

Spurious and out-of-band emission limits are included to protect aviation navigation and communications services operating in the 108 MHz to 137 MHz frequency band and rebroadcast reception in the 87,5 MHz to 108 MHz frequency band.

In areas where reliance on a transmitter specification alone cannot guarantee protection of the RF spectrum (eg reverse intermodulation), recommendations appropriate to installed systems are described in the ETSI Technical Report (ETR) 132.
