EUROLAB laboratory provides testing and compliance services within the scope of EN 12211 standard. The EN 12211 standard defines the test method for determining resistance to wind load for fully assembled windows and doors of any material when subjected to positive and negative test pressures.
This test method is designed to take into account the conditions in use when the window or door is installed in accordance with the manufacturer's specification and the relevant European Standards and codes of practice.
This standard does not apply to the joints between the window or door frame and the building construction. This standard is not designed to evaluate the strength of glass.
A defined set of positive and negative test pressure applications in which measurements and examinations are made to assess relative forward bias and resistance to damage from wind loads.
The test specimen should be fixed as intended for use in the works, without any bending or twisting that could affect the test results. The test sample must be fully operable. The rigidity of the test rig and the fixation of the specimen will be sufficient to avoid adverse effects on the specimen's performance during testing. The test specimen must be cleaned and surfaces must be dry. Ventilation devices, if any, will be taped.
The test pressure is positive if the static air pressure on the outside is higher than on the inside. The test pressure is negative if the static air pressure on the outside is lower than on the inside.
For the purpose of these tests, three sets of test pressures are defined:
The values of P1, P2, P3 correlate as follows: P2 = 0,5 P1 and P3 = 1,5 P1
There will be a room with an open side in which the test specimen can be placed. It should be constructed to withstand test pressures without deflection to the extent that could affect the test results.
