FKM (Viton) Fluorocarbon Gasket and Felt Tests

EUROLAB Laboratory performs fluorocarbon-containing product tests within the scope of material and product quality. It is a brown fluorocarbon called Viton or FKM. FKM materials operate at temperatures between -30°C and +280°C, and show high resistance to hydraulic fluids, chemicals and some organic compounds. Recommended in applications requiring high temperature applications, chemicals, bad weather conditions and ozone resistance, this material is generally preferred for gasket or oil seal use.

FKM (Viton) Fluorocarbon Gasket and Felt Tests

VITON material provides the following efficiencies

  • This material, commercially named Viton or Flourel, can be used at temperatures between -30 C and 280 C.
  • It is resistant to the majority of grease, oil, fuel, solvent and chemical (acid) substances.
  • It gives very good results when low gas permeability is required and in vacuum systems.
  • It is used in high temperature and high cycle environments.

FTIR, Microscopic FTIR and chemical composition tests can be performed on VITON materials, as well as analysis for food or skin contact products containing many harmful such as migration, chemical toxicants, carcinogens, phthalates.

Fluorocarbon is a well known high performance rubber. It has excellent resistance to high temperature, ozone, air, oxygen, mineral oil, fuels, hydraulic fluids, aromatic fluids and many organic solvents and chemicals.

Usage areas;

  • Petroleum products
  • Fuel, ethanol or ethanol blends
  • Diesel and biodiesel fuels.
  • Silicone oil and greases
  • Mineral oils and greases
  • High pressures.
  • Ozone, air and very high temperatures.
  • Strong acids.
