IEC 60247 Insulating Liquids - Measurement of Relative Permeability, Dielectric Dissipation Factor (Tan d) and DC Resistance

The methods are primarily designed to perform reference tests on unused liquids. They can also be applied to liquids in service in transformers, cables and other electrical devices.

However, the method can only be applied to a single-phase liquid. Simplified procedures are acceptable when routine determinations are desired.

Alternative cleaning procedures may be required for insulating fluids other than hydrocarbons. The main changes from the previous edition relate to the preferred measurement method.
