Specifies ranges of particle sizes and values for apparent density, Mohs hardness, moisture content, conductivity of aqueous extract, and water-soluble chlorides.
The requirements set out in this standard only apply to abrasives supplied in "new" condition. Do not apply to abrasives during or after use. Test methods for non-metallic sandblast abrasives are given in various parts of ISO 11127.
While this standard was developed specifically to meet steel structure preparation requirements, the specified properties will generally be suitable for use in the preparation of other material surfaces or components using sandblasting techniques.
