The wear resistance Böhme will be determined as the volume loss calculated from the changes in mass. In the case of the multilayer sample, the wear resistance is determined as the reduction in thickness.
The contact surface, ie the face to be tested and the underside of the specimen, must be parallel and flat. The underside shall be ground or otherwise machined to parallel, if appropriate, to determine the reduction in thickness.
