The IPC MF 150 test specification covers monolithic metal foils, supported or unsupported by carrier films or foils, suitable for later use in printed cartons. Unless otherwise agreed between the seller and the user, metal foils will be considered acceptable if the requirements in this document are met.

IPC MF 150 Metal Foil Test Standard for Printed Cabling Applications

It covers unsupported electro-deposited copper foil, aluminum or copper carrier-backed electro-deposited copper foil and wrought copper foil suitable for further use in printed sheets.

This specification only addresses the requirements for the supply of metal foil used in the printed wiring application.

The treatment is an electro-mechanical or chemical treatment applied to one or both sides of the copper foil to increase the adhesion of the foil to the base laminate. Treatment Transfer is any visible bond development process that is transferred from the copper foil surface to the laminate substrate.
