ISO 10563 Buildings and Civil Engineering Works - Mastics - Determination of Change in Mass and Volume

EUROLAB, with its state-of-the-art accredited laboratories and expert team, provides precise and fast testing services within the scope of ISO 10563 testing. This international standard specifies a method for the determination of mass change and volume change of self-leveling and non-sagging sealants used in joints in building construction.

ISO 10563 Buildings and Civil Engineering Works - Mastics - Determination of Change in Mass and Volume

This test procedure is not intended to determine the absolute maximum value of volume loss of a tested sealant, but is an indicative measurement of volume loss under specified parameters.

Test specimens consist of metal rings filled with non-sag sealant or metal molds filled with self-leveling sealant. The rings or molds are weighed in air and water, before and after filling, before and after special conditioning. The change in mass and volume of the tested sealant is calculated.

Sealant and metal rings should be brought to (23 ± 2) °C. Three test specimens were prepared for each feature to be tested. Each metal ring should be weighed using the balance in air (mass m1) and also in test liquid (mass m2) for volume testing.
