Any washable textile end product can be evaluated for smoothness appearance, seam evenness and crease retention using this method.

Textile end products containing fabrics of any nature, such as woven, knitted and non-woven, can be evaluated according to this method.

The sewing and creasing techniques are not outlined, as the aim is to evaluate the textile end products as either procured from manufacturing or ready to use.

Textile end products are subjected to standard home washing practices. Choose from hand or machine wash, alternative machine wash cycles and temperatures, and alternative drying procedures. Evaluation is carried out using a standard illumination and viewing area, grading the appearance of the samples in comparison with appropriate reference standards.
