EN 1542 Products and Systems for the Protection and Repair of Concrete Structures, Standard Test for the Measurement of Tensile and Adhesive Strength

Specifies a method for measuring the tensile bond strength of mortars, mortars, concretes and surface protection systems (SPS) used for the protection and repair of concrete. The provisions of the standard apply to products and systems applied up to a maximum thickness of 50 mm.

This standard describes a method for measuring the tensile bond strength of repair products and systems applied to standard reference concrete samples prepared according to EN 1766. The test method is a direct dolly pull method using a dolly adhered to the surface of the repair product, or the system was defined by coring the test area from the surface.

Unless the repair product or system is designed for use on horizontal surfaces only as recommended by the manufacturer, application should be made to a vertical surface.
